Police say shots were fired in a parking lot at the Trumbull Gardens Apartment Complex in Bridgeport where a group had gathered at about 1 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say a man in his 40s has died. They say an elderly woman was shot in the back while she was in the bath inside her apartment.
Six men and three women were taken to hospitals.
Bridgeport Hospital spokesman John Cappiello says one person has been treated and released and two others are in fair condition. Authorities say the other victims are in serious condition at St. Vincent's hospital. Several were undergoing surgery Thursday.
Police say they believe multiple shooters and weapons were involved. Police have leads on suspects, but they are not releasing information on them yet. (iik)(++++)
