Efforts to rescue people buried by a cliff collapse at an Indonesian beach resort on Java were hampered Thursday by high tide.
The coordinator of the local search and rescue agency said four people died in the collapse Wednesday and at least four others may still be buried in the debris of the 15-meter-high cliff.
Marjono, the rescue official, said one of two survivors of the cliff slide at Sadranan beach in Yogyakarta's Gunungkidul district, was seriously injured.
The victims are believed to be a group of visitors including two families from a neighboring district.
Based on information from witnesses, at least 10 people were in the immediate vicinity of the cliff when it collapsed.
Marjono said all those killed were men. (iik)(+++)
