ublicly listed phone distributor and retailer PT Trikomsel officially formed a joint venture with Singapore Post (SingPost) on Thursday, marking the two firms' strategic move to tap deeper into the country's growing e-commerce market.
'The startup capital for the joint venture is $2 million, with Trikomsel controlling 67 percent of the stake and SingPost owning the remaining 33 percent,' said Trikomsel Internet media CEO Andreas Thamrin during the launch event.
The joint venture, which is named Trio SPecommerce Indonesia (TSI), will provide one-stop e-commerce services for both online retailers and offline retailers wishing to build a presence in the country's e-commerce market, he went on.
TSI will offer clients various services, including e-commerce technology, warehousing solutions, delivery and return services, store operations and customer care.
The joint venture will combine Trikomsel's 900-plus retail channels in the archipelago and SingPost's advanced e-commerce technology. (koi/dmr) (++++)
