Garuda launches Jambi-Palembang route

G

aruda Indonesia officially began its new Jambi-Palembang route on Friday, responding to increased demand for a flight service connecting the two cities, a company official has said.

The sales and service manager of Garuda'€™s Jambi branch office, Arsena Permasadhie, said the national flag carrier was offering a daily Jambi-Palembang service using an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a capacity of 70 passenger seats.

'€œThe Jambi-Palembang flight takes less than an hour, so passengers, especially businesspeople, will waste less time,'€ said Arsena on Sunday.

Many large companies based in Palembang, South Sumatra, have branch offices in Jambi, requiring employees to make frequent trips between the two cities.

'€œWith Garuda'€™s Jambi-Palembang new flight route, they can travel by air, which is much more efficient than by land,'€ said Arsena. (ebf)(++++)
