- Hatha: This is a term used to describe many of the physical aspects of yoga. Good for beginners, it refers to yoga practice that combines asana (poses) and pranayama (breath).
- Iyengar: This is good for yogis of all levels, focusing on exact alignment in each pose. The practice encourages the use of props ' belts, blocks, bolsters and blankets ' that will help yogis get into poses with correct alignment.
- Ashtanga: This class follows a set sequence of poses that begins with an opening sequence, transitions to one of six series of poses that vary in difficulty level, continues to a back-bending sequence and ends with a finishing sequence and final resting pose.
- Vinyasa: Vinayasa highlights the connection between breath and movement ' Vinyasa simply means to flow from one movement to another, in time with your breathing. The class usually offers a more vigorous style, starting with a number of Salutes to the Sun to warm up the body before some more intense asana sequences.
- Bikram: This class consists of 26 postures practiced in a heated room that will help loosen rigidity, allowing people with limited flexibility to get deeper into their poses.
- Prenatal: Beginner and experienced practitioners alike can take this class. It helps moms-to-be stay strong and in shape during pregnancy.
