ow-cost carrier Citilink, a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia, has control of 13 percent of the total market share of national flights and it is aiming in the next three or four years to increase the figure to 30 percent, an official has said.
'It's our target and our wish to increase our market share to 30 percent. Insya Allah [God willing], this can be achieved with support from all existing components,' said Citilink president director and CEO, Albert Burhan, accompanied by Citilink commercial director Hans Nugraha, as quoted by Antara in Surabaya, East Java, on Wednesday.
Albert said Citilink was now operating 35 Airbus A-320 aircraft to serve 190 domestic and regional flights daily. In 2014, Citilink could carry 7.6 million passengers. 'It accounted for 13 percent of national flights,' he said.
In 2015, Albert said, Citilink aimed to carry 11.2 million passengers, one-and-a-half-fold higher than in the previous year.
To achieve its target to control 30 percent of all national flights, Citilink will bring in new Airbus A-320 aircraft in stages.
'This year, we will bring in five new aircraft and eight more in the following year,' said Albert.
Apart from that, he said, Citilink would expand its market share by improving its service quality. 'All of our consumers have admitted that quality service and 'on time' flight schedules are prime advantages of Citilink,' he said. (ebf)(++++)
