tate-owned oil and gas company Pertamina will launch Pertalite, a Research octane Number (RON) 90 fuel that could gradually replace consumption of RON 88 Premium, after Idul Fitri in July with a price tag of Rp 8,500 (64 cents) per liter.
The company's marketing director, Ahmad Bambang, said that Pertamina is ready to book losses for selling Pertalite because the losses will not be as big as from selling Premium.
'The important thing is that we will not have as big a loss as from selling Premium fuel,' Ahmad told House of Representatives' Commission VII members on Wednesday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He added that in the first phase Pertamina will distribute 1,000 kiloliters of Pertalite per day to Jakarta, Surabaya and Bandung.
'We will distribute 1,000 kiloliters first and it could be increased in the future,' he said.
