After speaking for publicly listed flag-carrier Garuda Indonesia for 17 years, Pujobroto has decided to resign from his post.
'[I] would like to give a chance to the younger generation and talents at Garuda to support the new management in developing Garuda going forward,' Pujobroto said on Wednesday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Last December, six members of the firm's board of directors and five members of the board of commissioners were dismissed amid difficult financial conditions. The management shake-up included the president director post, which is now filled by Arif Wibowo, the former CEO of Garuda's low-cost unit Citilink, replacing Emirsyah Satar.
Garuda Indonesia has now become a five-star airline and sits among top 10 world airlines, underscoring challenges for the new management to maintain and improve the firm's brand image and reverse last year's financial losses into profits.
