he West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial administration has granted an 8-hectare plot of land in Labuhan Haji district, East Lombok regency, to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) for a drug rehabilitation center in the province, with construction slated to commence next year.
NTB Governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi on Tuesday symbolically handed over the land to BNN head Comr. Gen. Anang Iskandar.
'We received the land grant from the NTB provincial administration to build a drug rehabilitation center in the province. God willing, it will be built in 2016. The project will cost around Rp 60 billion (US$4.6 million), derived from the state budget,' Anang told journalists on Tuesday.
The 8-hectare plot, located on the coast, he added, was ample land on which to build a center. Besides buildings to house drug addicts, other facilities will also be built, such as for post-rehab treatment.
