Parents of students at state elementary school in SD 3 Pabuaran Tumpeng, Tangerang, Banten, reported the school'€™s headmaster to the Tangerang Police for allegedly sexually abusing their children. One of the parents, Hasanudin, said on Friday that the number of victims '€” students from third to sixth grade '€” who were reported to have been victims of the alleged crime had reached 12.

Your comments:

People should be out with raised fists demanding these touchy feely teachers and administrators be gotten rid of. This is just another incident that is in all likelihood the tip of the iceberg. Speak up Indonesia if you value the well-being of the youth of this country. It is bad enough when you have to send them off to get an inferior education, but putting them in harm'€™s way should never happen.

It is disgusting that there has not been even a hint of being prosecuted and sentenced for a long time. Having worked at several schools across Indonesia, I am appalled by the mentality of most local parents at national and '€œlower-end'€ private schools who actually '€œlike'€ the '€œobviously touchy feely'€ pictures posted on Facebook by male teachers with male SD students. Inform the head of school, and just a smile, it'€™s '€œOK'€. In no shape or form should a teacher ever touch a child unless to protect the child or themselves.
