ice President Jusuf Kalla said it was necessary for President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to reshuffle his working cabinet in an endeavor to improve the government's performance.
He declined, however, to declare when the reshuffle would be conducted, whether before or after the Idul Fitri holiday.
'Yes, it is needed to improve the government's performance. It is not a personal matter but to make the government's performance better,' he remarked at the vice presidential office on Tuesday.
Kalla said further that the performance of ministers, especially those dealing with economic matters, had to be improved although certain ministers had performed well.
'Yes, there is excellent performance, there is satisfying performance, but there is also underperformance. As human beings, the ministers have their own shortcomings,' he said as quoted by kompas.com.
The President has several times expressed his implicit desire to reshuffle his cabinet to improve the government's performance, especially in the economic field. He has also asked all ministers to unveil their own accountability measures and simultaneously to develop their planning until November. The working cabinet was sworn in November 2014. (++++)
