Police said the gang recently stole Rp 2 billion (US$150,375) from a victim at Pluit Market in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, in April.
Jakarta Police violent crime sub directorate unit head Herry Heryawan said AL, 59, was detained in May.

He said other gang members, identified only as AH, AC, AW and AGT, remained at large. Police warned that crimes involving hypnosis tended to increase in the approach to Idul Fitri.
