Text your say: Amnesty for financial crimes

Y

strong>Your comments on the government'€™s plan to draft a bill to exempt financial crimes, ranging from corruption and money laundering to tax evasion, from all criminal and financial charges:

This government is championing to protect the corruptors. Indonesia is facing a moral problem.

Animi

The government becomes accomplices of the criminals so it can get hold of their stolen loot? Where is your moral compass?

Forgiving the crooks and allowing them amnesty so you can have their money? That is known as '€œpartner in crime'€ or an accomplice. So you are willing to sell your souls to the devils?

Malam

Take their money and put them in jail, then that´s fair.

Simba

A crime should be prosecuted and sentenced. Corruption and other financial crimes are extraordinary crimes, which should be sentenced heavily.

To grant amnesty to such criminals with the hope that they will return all their loot is really a naïve policy.

Amnesty for financial crimes: the earlier thus the better, before they all die.

No, there is no such amnesty for financial crimes, especially tax evasion!

The existence of a nation is supported, among other ways, through the collection of taxes.

However, to invite capitalists (of any '€œform/source'€) we will prioritize them to invest in the currently proposed infrastructure. We will respect them the way we do others without any differences whatsoever.

What they did may be painful to us, but that was the stupid activities of our corrupt hands all owing them to enrich themselves abroad.

It is but fair to use the escaped funds to replenish the funds badly needed to establish our very much neglected infrastructure.

It is high time for this country of ours to stop being BUMN/state-owned enterprise (SOE) oriented and to start the world'€™s modern way of business with private-owned enterprise (POE).

Through POE many capital owners will be too happy to participate in the business development in this very lucrative archipelago, if only to pay back the loss of capital flight many years ago because of our mismanagement during the corrupt government era.

Foreigners can own flats

In a bid to boost investment and capital inflow, the government will, in an unprecedented move, allow foreigners to own apartments in Indonesia. The government plans, however, to limit the assets to those valued at a minimum of Rp 5 billion (US$375,000). What do you think?
