The DVI team's deputy chairman, Sr. Comr. Didiet Setyobudi, said his unit had yet to identify 129 other victims.
'The total number of bodies taken to the Adam Malik General Hospital is 141 and 12 bodies have been already identified. The identification process is to continue,' he told The Jakarta Post.
Didiet said the identification process had occurred quickly and accurately so far because of the availability of primary data from the victims such as teeth and hair. In terms of the identification of the 12 soldiers, their identity was known because they were wearing military uniforms.
He admitted the DVI team would face difficulties in identifying civilian victims because they had suffered major burns.(++++)
