Greater Jakarta: Kebumen deploys buses to pick up residents

T

he Kebumen administration in Central Java will send free buses to pick up its residents who work in Jakarta ahead of the Idul Fitri holiday on July 17 and 18. It also plans to send trucks to carry the residents'€™ motorcycles.

'€œWe have introduced the program to reduce road accidents during the homecoming period,'€ Kebumen Transportation Agency spokesman Marsijanto said on Wednesday as quoted by tempo.co.

He said the program was also aimed at helping Kebumen residents who worked in the capital but could not afford to travel home to celebrate Idul Fitri.

The Kebumen administration will provide two 60-seater air-conditioned buses, and trucks with a capacity of up to 300 motorcycles.

The buses and trucks will pick up Kebumen workers and motorcycles on July 13 and 14.
