he rupiah interbank trade rate in Thursday's opening session weakened by 44 basis points to Rp 13,324 per dollar from Rp 13,280 per dollar in the previous trade.
'The rupiah weakened after the release of the non farm payrolls [NFP] of the Automatic Data Processing version, which were better than expected,' Monex Investindo Futures research unit head Ariston Tjendra said as quoted by Antara news agency.
Ariston further said that the NFP of the US government version were also predicted to rise, while the average income per hour of employees in the US would likely increase by 0.2 percent too.
'This projection is a bit optimistic and if its results exceed expectations, the dollar could be pushed higher,' he said.
Mandiri Sekuritas economist Aldian Taloputra said that the June 2015 inflation of 0.54 percent was lower than the Mandiri Sekuritas prediction and consensus, which respectively reached 0.63 and 0.65 percent.
'We see the inflation pressure can still be measured and is in line with the inflation target of Bank Indonesia of 4 plus-minus 1 percent,' Aldian said. (hhr) (++++)
