he two-day rapid chess tournament, the So Nice Ramadhan Cup, will begin on Saturday at Wisma Menpora, Senayan, Central Jakarta, with the prizes on offer increasing in attractiveness.

This year'€™s event will award total prize money of Rp 62,750,000 (US$4,704), a more than 10-percent increase from last year'€™s Rp 56,050,000.

The tournament will feature 25-minute games, using the Swiss system, or non-elimination format, and the result will count in the national ratings imposed since January 2015.

Some 200 participants were reported to have registered for the tournament as of Thursday. Registration is open until 3 p.m. Friday at the Indonesian Chess Association headquarters at Gate 6 of the Gelora Bung Karno main stadium.

Registration forms are also available from Japfa Chess Club at Jl. Daan Mogot Km 12 no. 9, West Jakarta, the Jakarta Chess Association at the KONI building at Jl. Tanah Abang I in Central Jakarta and SCUA Bekasi at Jl. Siliwangi no. 17, Rawa Panjang, Bekasi.
