resident Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has said that he will inaugurate soon former Jakarta governor Sutiyoso and Army chief of staff Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo as the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief and Indonesian Military (TNI) commander, respectively.
'It is true [they will be inaugurated at the same time],' Jokowi said at the State Palace on Sunday night.
The President,however, hinted that he would not inaugurate them on July 6 as earlier revealed by Teten Masduki, a member of the President's communications team.
Jokowi has nominated Gatot as the sole candidate to replace Gen. Moeldoko, whose term will end on Aug. 1. The House of Representatives has backed his nomination. The House also endorsed the nomination of Sutiyoso in a plenary session on July 3.
