AKARTA: Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said that by the first half of this year, state budget disbursement has reached Rp 820 trillion (US$61.2 billion), or around 41 percent of the Rp 1,984.1 trillion budget in the revised 2015 State Budget.
Nearly 60 percent of the remaining budget will be realized in the second semester this year, Bambang said, adding that the government aims to maximize disbursements in the July to December period. Meanwhile, tax revenues reached 40 percent of target, he said, as quoted by Kontan.co.id.
The government has forecast that spending until the end of the year will reach 96.3 percent of target or around Rp 1,909.8 trillion.
The government remains optimistic that economic growth in the third and fourth quarters of this year will be 5.4 percent and 5.7 percent, respectively, so that overall economic growth this year will reach 5.2 percent.
But Bank Indonesia (BI) has predicted that economic growth in the second semester will not be as expected, with Governor Agus Martowardojo saying that the growth will reach 5 to 5.2 percent in the July to December period, lower than the central bank's previous forecasts of between 5.3 and 5.4 percent in the third and fourth quarters each.
