MyGadget: Isyana Sarasvati: Crazy about pink gadgets

Young musical talent Isyana Sarasvati, 22, goes crazy over the latest gadgets that the market has to offer '€” especially those offering pink models.

'€œI love gadgets '€” so bad, since I was a little. There were times where I entered music competitions just for the [money] prize, so I could buy my favorite gadgets,'€ the talkative Isyana told The Jakarta Post.

She revealed that her first gadget purchase was the classic Nokia 3610 cell phone when she was 9 years old.

'€œSince then, I got used to buying my favorite gadgets with my own money. It'€™s a great feeling,'€ added the alumna of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore and the Royal College of Music in London and holder of a Bachelor of Music.

Isyana, who released first single '€œKeep Being You'€ in 2014 and follow-up single '€œTetap Dalam Jiwa'€ (Within My Soul) in March, said that her utmost weakness was for cute and tempting pink gadgets.

The singer said that she once impulsively bought a pink Samsung mobile phone while strolling in a mall in her hometown of Bandung, West Java. '€œActually I already had two mobile phones at that time, but I couldn'€™t help it '€” that pink boxy Samsung thing was so cute.'€

iPhone, iPad Mini, Macintosh

I tried all the iPhone 4 and 5 models, and now I use the 6 version. Currently I'€™m in gold mode '€” I use the iPhone 6 gold version. My secondary smartphone is a Samsung, also in gold, but I can'€™t remember the type. Besides those two, I use an iPad Mini and iPod Touch on a daily basis. For music work, I use a Macintosh computer, where I employ LogicPro software.

I'€™m still a beginner with LogicPro, but I think it'€™s a perfect tool for me to work in this commercial world. It allows you to connect with any keyboard with MIDI output and speakers, and it can be a sequencer as well, which enriches your sound when you'€™re in a live performance. Before LogicPro, I used Sibelius, which is suitable for classical pieces.

Digital cameras

I bought several digital cameras over the past few years '€” one of them was a pink Canon Ixus but I lost it. What'€™s left is a Samsung camera, I can'€™t remember which type, a Casio Exilim and Fujifilm Instax Mini instant camera '€” all are in pink.

I just bought a new camera, by the way. It'€™s a Canon PowerShot '€” I love to use it on vacations to take selfies. I used to browse the Internet first before buying any gadgets. But for this Canon, I didn'€™t. So, it took me about two hours in a shop just to decide between this Canon and a Nikon camera.
