S

oekarno-Hatta International Airport'€™s customs and excise officers have arrested a Tanzanian woman, identified as MA, for trying to smuggle 32 capsules of drugs from Tanzania, a customs official said on Wednesday.

MA was examined soon after she landed in Tangerang by an officer, who became suspicious after noticing her body movements. In the examination, the officer found that the woman had 32 capsules in her body.

'€œThere were 23 capsules of heroin with a total weight of 414 grams and nine capsules of methamphetamine with a total weight of 126 grams,'€ Dwijo Muryono, head of the Customs and Excise at the airport'€™s main service office, said as quoted by kompas.com.

According to Dwijo, MA, who was nabbed on July 4, was made to pass examination at the Julus Nyerere International Airport when she departed as well as when she transited at the Doha International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

He added that MA was still in the custody of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Police for further examination. The police will charge her under Article 113 of the 2009 law on drugs, which carries the death penalty.
