ity-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is set to gain an additional 509 buses this year after 20 Swedish-made articulated Scania buses began operating in the city last month.
Transjakarta president director ANS Kosasih said that the new buses included not only those procured by Transjakarta, but other operators managed by the company including Kopaja and state-run bus company Perum PPD.
Kosasih said that in October, 120 Toyota buses ordered by Kopaja would arrive in the city. Further, he said that in November, 158 buses would arrive, 99 of which are Foton buses procured by Transjakarta in the 2013 budget year along with 59 Yutong buses procured by Perum PPD from 2013.
He added that another 231 vehicles would arrive in December, of which 31 would be articulated Scania buses procured by Transjakarta and 200 were Toyota minibuses procured by Kopaja.
