he Jakarta Police have set up two task forces to investigate an alleged graft case surrounding the notoriously long dwelling times at Tanjung Priok Port.
'We have already established two teams. The teams have already started working,' Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian told reporters on Wednesday.
Tito said that the two task forces had two different roles. The first task force is responsible for investigating and analyzing the current evidence and five suspects already detained to discover whether there would be any more suspects. The second is responsible for conducting preliminary investigations to see if there were other cases of graft conducted by any of the 18 institutions under the one-stop integrated office at the port.
'My first instruction [for the task force] was to strengthen the evidence against the suspects in the first case dossier and investigate the possibility of other suspects in the case,' he said.
Currently the police have named and detained five suspects, including the Trade Ministry's suspended director general of foreign trade, Partogi Pangaribuan, and one of his subordinates, Imam Aryanta.
