rosecutors asked the Medan District Court on Monday to sentence an employer, Bibi Randika, to 20 years in jail for her alleged involvement in killing one maid, Hermin alias Cici, and torturing others in December last year.
Prosecutor Joyce Sinaga also demanded the court to fine the defendant Rp 120 million (US$9,230), or be sentenced to an additional six months if she could not pay the fine.
Earlier on Monday, the prosecutors also planned to read their sentence demand against Bibi's husband, Syamsul Anwar, for the same crime, but his trial was postponed because of the worsening health condition of the defendant.
The same court already convicted the couple's son M. Thariq and employee Kiki Andika and sentenced them to one year and eight months and two and a half year in prison, respectively, for torturing the maids.
