he Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry launched on Tuesday two online applications aimed at easing data compilation around fishing operation and transportation.
One application is called e-log book, which replaces the old manual system that stored data on fishing boats, fishing tools, fishing operations and production.
'It is easier, faster and more accurate [than the old system],' the ministry's head of research and resources Achmad Purnomo said, as quoted by tempo.co.
He added that the e-log book is an Android-based application.
Another application, called e-observer, will be used to help the ministry monitor the distribution and transportation of fishing catches out at sea.
'With this e-observer, our task of getting the correct data will be easier,' Achmad said. (ika)(++++)
