Luxurious Italian car producer Maserati introduced on Tuesday a new variant of its Maserati Quattroporte to the Indonesian market, targeting a small segment of the society interested in luxury and exclusivity.
PT Auto Trisula Indonesia (ATI), the Maserati brand holder in Indonesia, said that Maserati Quattroporte orders could be customized and each of the luxurious sedans coming into the country would have a unique interior design that fits the owner's preferences.
'[For example], the type of leather to be used and the color of the seats can be customized to the customer's preferences,' ATI's public relations manager Ismail Ashlan told reporters on the sidelines of the launch in Central Jakarta on Tuesday. 'Our customers are interested in exclusivity, something rarely found on the road.'
The Maserati Quattroporte, which in Italian means four doors, completed the previous versions of Maserati Quattroporte S and Maserati Quattroporte GTS, which were both launched in 2013.
Overall, there were not many changes in the new version apart from the use of a new component design in its engine, such as a new camshaft design and a new injector system and Electronic Control System (ECS), according to Ismail.
Prices were not immediately announced, as they could fluctuate depending on the local exchange rate. It could take three months for customers to have their orders delivered, since there is a one-month assembly period and a two-month shipping process.
ATI currently does not have a sales target because it is still studying demand patterns, Ismail said.
