he Karo Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) announced on Wednesday that 370 homes for Mount Sinabung eruption evacuees in the Siosar forest area in Merek district, would be completed this month.
Karo BPBD acting head Matius Sembiring said the homes were allocated for residents of three villages whose homes were destroyed by pyroclastic clouds from Mt. Sinabung .
The three villages are Bekerah, Suka Meriah and Simacem, all located in the danger zone of within a 3-km radius of the volcano.
Matius said the homes of residents from Bekerah and Suka Meriah villages had been completed.
'As many as 112 homes and 128 homes have been built for Bekerah and Suka Meriah residents, respectively. All of them have been completed and they have received the keys to the homes,' Matius told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
He added that another 130 homes had not yet been completed for Simacem residents. However, he said the relocation homes for Simacem residents would be complete by the end of the month.
