Witi added that of the dead victims, nine were migrant workers and one was a sex worker. Four died in domestic violence, one of rape and one was killed during courting. The data was from a study conducted by LRC-KJHAM from November 2014 to June 2015.
According to Witi, the perpetrators were predominately adults (282), or 47.5 percent of the total of 593 people. Most of the violence was committed by men closely related to the victims, such as fathers, stepfathers, neighbors and uncles.
