ndonesia is still in the early stages of figuring out cyber security when it comes to digital economic protection, said Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel) board chairman Setyanto Santosa as he cited a study by Business Software Alliance (BSA).
"The challenges with cyber security in Indonesia include a weak legal framework, no clear road map and the lack of specific cyber security professions," said Setyanto at the 2015 Indonesia Cyber Security Summit (ICSS) in Jakarta on Monday.
His discussion was one among the many panels on cyber security systems at the annual conference, which talked about the development of such a system in the country following the relatively new and rapidly growing digital economic activities.
Experts on the event agreed that Indonesia, which has almost 90 million internet users and around 34 percent internet penetration, is seeing significant growth in the digital economy.
Having cited various sources like BSA, We Are Social, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), they acknowledged that there is still plenty of room to grow in this field. (rad/kes)(++++)
