he Immigration Office in Palu, Central Sulawesi, has arrested seven Chinese nationals at two different locations, with five having no valid documents for their stay in Indonesia, and two allegedly working illegally in the province, Antara reported on Tuesday.
'They were arrested in two difference places ' five at a gold mining site in Poboya village, East Palu district, and two in Buluri village, Ulujadi district,' said an immigration official in Palu on Tuesday speaking on the condition of anonymity.
The official said that five people had been detained at the Immigration Office soon after the interrogation, while the other two were allowed to return to their place in Buluri village.
According to the official, the group of five only had photocopies of passports when they were arrested, while the two others had passports and limited stay permits (ITAS), but were allegedly worked in a mining site without proper permits. (bbn)(++++)
