Greater Jakarta: Another app-based '€˜ojek'€™, to be launched

ue to rising popularity of ojek (motorcycle taxi) services, another app-based ojek business under the name of Blujek is set to launch in the near future.

Blujek is currently hiring ojek drivers, offering health and accident insurance and high wages and bonuses, according to an announcement obtained by The Jakarta Post on Wednesday. The management also says that it will provide its drivers with personal protective equipment and working tools, such as helmets, jackets, smartphones and phone credit.

However, Blujek has yet to launch its new business publicly.

Nonetheless, kompas.com reported that hundreds of people had packed its office in Gandaria, South Jakarta by Wednesday to apply as Blujek drivers.
