Pande Putu Yasa - perumppd
State-run city bus company Perum PPD is to increase the Transjabodetabek bus fare from Rp 9,000 (64 US cents) to Rp 10,000 in September.
Perum PPD president director Pande Putu Yasa said that his company was currently charging a special fare to promote the Transjabodetabek routes, which were officially opened on Monday.
However, Pande added, the promotional fare was only valid until the end of this month.
'Within the promo period, the Transjabodetabek fare is Rp 9,000. Starting in September, the fare will be Rp 10,000,' he said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.
The new fare will be applied on the Bekasi and Tangerang routes, Pande went on, while the fare for the shorter South Tangerang route, from Ciputat to Blok M, would remain at Rp 8,000.
The newly launched Transjabodetabek service plies routes between the capital and Bekasi, Tangerang and South Tangerang. Meanwhile, a Depok route is still pending, delayed by the municipality's lack of bus terminals with raised platforms.
