The National Police chief Badrodin Haiti has confirmed the removal of Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso from his position as the chief of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) on Thursday night, according to a report by kompas.com.
Budi will replace Anang Iskandar as the chief of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), while Anang will take Budi's position in Bareskrim.
"I was informed about the transfer last night," said Budi on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
Budi said that he did not mind being transferred and said that from the beginning of his career he was not picky about where he worked.
"Insya Allah [God willing] I will do the job as best as I can," said Budi.
Budi added that he had not yet received a confidential telegram from the National Police headquarters regarding the transfer. But he is confident that it will be issued soon. (kes)
