Siti, an Indonesian black and white movie, has been included in one of the most prestigious film festivals in the US, the Telluride Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 4 to 7.
Siti will be screened along with other top new films from around the world, including Danny Boyle's much anticipated biopic Steve Jobs and Sydney Pollack's Amazing Grace.
The director of Siti, Eddie Cahyono, has flown to Colorado to attend the festival, said the film's producer Ifa Isfansyah to the The Jakarta Post.
'Siti will be screened tomorrow and after that there will be a brief Q and A session,' Ifa said.
Ifa said that he had not expected Siti to be screened at the prestigious festival.
'For most directors, [being screened at Telluride] feels like one step away from the Oscars,' he said.
Siti has already screened and received awards at various other international film festivals. In June this year it won the Best Script Writer award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. (++++)
