he South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office announced on Thursday that the dossier on the former chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad, in connection with his alleged involvement in document forgery was ready.
'The case will soon be handed over to the Makassar Prosecutor's Office, which will take the case to court,' said Muhammad Yusuf, an assistant in the office's general crimes division.
Separately, Samad's lawyer, Adnan Buyung Azis, said his team had arranged for several witnesses to testify on behalf of Samad.
The police declared Samad a suspect for allegedly helping to forge ID and family cards for a woman, identified as Feriyani Lim, who has also been named a suspect, on Feb. 17. Many observers believe the police's move was an act of revenge after the KPK named National Police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan a graft suspect.
