AKARTA: Next year, the city administration plans to build three bus terminals and integrate them into nearby low-cost rental apartment complexes and traditional markets.
Jakarta Transportation Agency head Andri Yansyah was quoted by beritajakarta.com as saying that the three terminals would be located at the Rawa Buaya Terminal in West Jakarta, and the Tanah Merdeka Terminal and the Kali Adem pier in North Jakarta.
'We will only design the terminal, while the budget is under the authority of the Jakarta Housing and Government Building Agency,' Andri said on Friday.
Meanwhile, Housing and Government Building Agency head Ika Lestari Aji said that the three terminals, which would be located near the housing complexes of low-income families, were scheduled for completion in 2017.
'We hope that the families can easily reach public transportation,' Ika said.
