AKARTA: In a bid to serve more passengers, electric commuter train company PT Kereta Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) will add an extra daily trip to its general schedule before the end of the year, a top official from the company said on Friday.
KCJ president director Muhammad Fadhilla said that each day, the electric trains undertook 884 trips, and said that the company would look into the possibility of increasing this number to 988. 'This year we will increase the number of trips to 998 and it will take effect as of December,' Fadhilla said as quoted by tempo.co.
However, he said the company would need to add more cars to its trains serving the Jakarta Kota-Bogor route.
'We will increase our capacity by making our trains longer. We will adjust to the growth of passengers,' he said.
