Guess what?: Rio to help improve coffee farmers'€™ welfare

Kapanlagi.com

After starring in Angga Dwimas Sasongko'€™s Filosofi Kopi (Coffee Philosophy), actor Rio Dewanto says he would like to help improve the welfare of coffee farmers in Indonesia.

Rio has become the producer and host of a new TV show about coffee, entitled Viva Barista, which will discuss everything about coffee from plantations, to farmers to the coffee baristas.

He has visited several coffee plantations in Indonesia to do research and believes that farmers should get more attention.

'€œThe number of coffee farmers in coffee plantations is relatively small. And to have better quality of Indonesian coffee, we need to have a lot of skillful coffee farmers,'€ he said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

He said that most local coffee farmers did not have good or wide networks or the ability to package their coffee products in an interesting way.

'€œWe will get into many farmers groups to discuss their problems and find solutions together,'€ the 28-year-old said.
