The Religious Affairs Ministry'€™s Mecca haj office confirmed on Tuesday that one more Indonesian haj pilgrim had died during the stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia, bringing the country'€™s death toll to 46 people.

Of the 46, 42 pilgrims had travelled from Indonesia while four were living in Mecca. Also, 90 Indonesian pilgrims have still not returned to their lodgings and seven others are being treated at hospitals.

The recently announced victim of the tragedy was Dahlia Sulaiman Hamdan, a haj pilgrim of the BTH 14 flight group, popularly known as kloters, from Batam.

'€œFour of the 10 haj pilgrims reportedly hospitalized have now returned to their lodgings while the remaining six pilgrims are still undergoing medical treatment,'€ Arsyad Hidayat, head of the ministry'€™s Saudi office, said as quoted by tempo.co.

According to the office, the 90 Indonesians reported to have not yet returned to their lodgings are from several kloters. They comprise:

  • 11 people from BTH 14
  • 12 people from SUB 48
  • 46 people from JKS 61
  • 5 people from UPG 10
  • 6 people from SOC 62
  • 4 people from SUB 28
  • 1 person from BPN 5
  • 1 person from JKH 33
  • 2 people from JKS 21
  • 1 person from LOP 9
  • 1 person from SUB 34

Arsyad said the ministry'€™s team continued to look for information on the whereabouts of Indonesian haj pilgrims who had not yet returned to their lodgings by tracing hospital records and identifying bodies being kept at Al Muaishim mortuary in Mecca. (ags/ebf)(++++)
