driver with app-based ojek (motorcycle taxi) service Go-Jek has been detained by Tanjung Duren subprecinct police on suspicion of selling drugs.
The police arrested the driver, Supriyono, 39, on Friday as he was waiting for passengers around Jl. Pedongkelan Raya in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. Two small packages of drugs totaling 0.32 grams, which he had hidden inside a cigarette package, were confiscated.
'He sold each packet for Rp 400,000 [US$27],' Tanjung Duren criminal unit chief Adj. Com. Antonius said as quoted by Warta Kota.
He added that Supriyono, who had worked as a Go-Jek driver for around two months, had received the drugs from a person initialed DPS, who was still at large.
The suspect, who has three children, said he sold drugs because his family was experiencing financial problems.
