epresentatives of two rival camps of the Golkar Party have met to discuss options for the party's future, including holding an extraordinary meeting for reconciliation.
Yorrys Raweyai, a deputy chairman of the Golkar camp led by Agung Laksono, met Setya Novanto, a deputy chairman of the Aburizal Bakrie camp, at the House of Representatives on Saturday.
Yorrys said he met Setya, who is also House speaker, to discuss, among other things, holding an extraordinary congress to end the dispute between the two camps.
'One of the topics [discussed] was an extraordinary congress,' said Yorrys.
Setya, however, denied discussing a congress during the one-hour meeting.
He said the meeting with Yorrys was held to discuss the party's future, but 'did not touch on extraordinary meeting'.
The Golkar Party has been split into two camps after a failed succession in December.
Each won the first stages of several legal battles at lower courts and are currently asking for Golkar leadership recognition from the Supreme Court.
