City Council's special committee (Pansus) has called on the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to make a follow-up audit of the procurement of land for Sumber Waras cancer hospital financed by the 2014 city budget because the BPK recommendation has not been fully implemented by the Jakarta city administration.
Council's special committee deputy chairwoman Cinta Mega said that the case had potentially caused the city losses worth Rp 191 billion (US$13.74 million). 'The special committee calls on BPK to carry out a follow-up audit on its initial finding,' Cinta said as reported by kompas.com on Thursday.
The council's special committee was established after the BPK issued a recommendation, calling on the Jakarta city administration to solve the problem of alleged over payment when the city procured a plot of land in West Jakarta for the expansion of Sumber Waras hospital.
Another of BPK's recommendations was that the city administration might build the hospital on city-owned land.
According to BPK, the city administration had purchased the land based on the taxable value of property on Jl. Kyai Tapa, while the BPK found that the location of the land was on Jl. Tomang Utara.
The city administration insisted that the certificate for a plot of land it purchased in Sumber Waras Hospital in Grogol, West Jakarta, showed that the land was on Jl. Kyai Tapa. The Financial and Asset Management Board (BPKAD) head, Heru Budi Hartono, said that the land documents clearly stated that the plot was on the main road. (bbn)
