Industry Minister Saleh Husein said on Friday that the government had cut several licenses in order to simplify business processes in Indonesia.

"It used to take days to process business licenses, now it'€™s just a matter of hours,'€ the minister told reporters.

According to Saleh, the Industry Ministry decision is in line with the third economic stimulus package issued on Wednesday, which will lure investment and revive the country's economy.

Besides simplifying permit procedures, the government also lowered interest rates on loans and made them easier to access. The government also gave electricity tariff discounts and cut fuel prices.

On Monday, President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo asked all parties to remain optimistic in the face of the current economic slowdown.

He said he was certain that in the second semester of this year, Indonesia'€™s economic growth could increase, supported by budget absorption.

He did not explain in detail Indonesia'€™s economic growth forecast for the second half of 2015, though claimed that he had received data that showed that the country'€™s growth would certainly increase.

The President said he was targeting budget absorption to be 92-94 percent by the end of this year, which, he said, would hopefully boost Indonesia'€™s economic growth. (dan)(++++)
