JAKARTA: State-owned diversified miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) has elected Gen
AKARTA: State-owned diversified miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) has elected Gen. (ret.) Fachrul Razi as its executive commissioner in an extraordinary general shareholders meeting (RUPSLB) in Jakarta on Thursday.
Fachrul, a native of Aceh, was the deputy commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI) between 1999 and 2000.
He replaces outgoing Antam executive commissioner R. Sukhyar.
Fachrul was a member of the expert team advising then presidential candidate Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo during his candidacy for president.
Media reported that Jokowi consulted Fachrul before participating in the third presidential debate session.
Antam is a listed company, and focuses on nickel and gold. The company posted a serious loss last year because of declining sales on the back of a nickel ore export ban and a weakening rupiah.
