In the ceremony in Cluntang village, Musuk district, on Saturday, Dar wore a black suit while Dum wore a red kebaya (traditional dress) and batik cloth. Guests were entertained by a traditional campursari music performance.
Local resident Handoyo said the happy couple had been known as lovers.
Village official Sumardja said there were no wedding documents, adding that it was just a tasyakuran (thankfulness) celebration.
'Dar threatened to commit suicide if he was not allowed. Residents came because they were invited,' Sumardja said.
Boyolali Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Budi Sartono said on Monday that the police were still investigating a possible violation of Marriage Law 11/1974 that banned same-sex marriage.
