he Korean Maritime and Ocean University will award Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri the academic title of Doctor Honoris Causa for her contributions to world politics.
The award would be bestowed in a ceremony in Busan on Monday.
'This is the fifth Honoris Causa degree given to her,' PDI-P secretary-general Hasto Kristiyanto said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Megawati is currently in South Korea as part of her trip to East Asia and held a meeting on Thursday with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
She said as quoted by Antara news agency that her meeting with Xi was part of efforts to improve relations between the two countries.
Before meeting Xi, Megawati held a series of meetings with senior figures of the Chinese Communist Party and spoke on a panel titled 'Political Leadership: New Consensus for Politics Party' at the forum of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).
