Black violet And copper the '€˜it'€™ hair looks

In action: L'€™Oreal local brand ambassadors '€” Arie & Harry, Andy Lie, Irwan Doke and Lie Kuang '€” and Denis Holbecq are seen on stage during a hairstyling demonstration

Popular among Hollywood stars and top models, black violet or copper hair will give you the look of your favorite celebrities.

Hair product brand L'€™Oréal Professionnel presented new styles during a show at the recent Jakarta Fashion Week through its latest '€œIT Looks'€, which featured two colors '€” black violet and copper.

Four local brand ambassadors '€” Arie & Harry, Andy Lie, Irwan Doke and Lie Kuang '€” and Denis Holbecq, the brand'€™s international hairdresser ambassador, each demonstrated their hairstyling skills for 10 minutes on stage.

Various experimental up-dos, short and long bob cuts, as well as a long pixie were then presented on the runway by models who donned outfits from Ardistia New York, Sofie Design, Billy Tjong and Rinda Salmun.

The new hair styles were created by colorist Frederic Mennetrier, who has been involved in photo shoots of noted fashion magazines, and hairstylist Sam McKnight, who has worked with Tom Ford, Chanel, Madonna and Lady Gaga.

The brand'€™s business unit manager,Y ola Sutjiutomo said the black-violet style had appeared frequently on the runways of international designers, such as Alexander Wang, Giorgio Armani and Marc Jacobs.

Black violet would look stunning if matched with a wavy bob cut that fell around the face, she said.

The copper look, which had shades of red, Yola said, was mostly inspired by the hair styles of Hollywood stars, including Julianne Moore, Amy Adams and Emma Stone.

'€œAn extra long haircut with some wavy accents will improve the look of copper-colored hair,'€ she said.

Indra Tanudarma, the company'€™s education manager, said with the new look, hairstylists could also play with contouring, which was often used in makeup application.

'€œSimilar to the contouring technique in makeup application, hair contouring is also used to give a certain impression by shading the hair,'€ he said.

He said to contour hair, hairstylists should first understand different face shapes and which part of the hair should be colored to have a powerful effect on the face.

The dramatic hair show was further enlivened by a parade of new collections from the four designers.

Ardistia showcased a structured collection inspired by architecture and sculptures.

Pants, maxi dress and jacket with pleats and some cut-outs in black, pure white and dark purple were part of her collection.

Meanwhile, Billy offered his designs in two sequences, with the first dominated by black outfits inspired by the simplicity of dark Asian hair.

In his second set, Billy presented white-colored designs made from neoprene fabric, sateen, jacquard and tulle, with straight pleats to represent Asian hair.

'€œThe white collection features digital prints inspired by the coloring process in a beauty salon,'€ he said.

Sofie presented futuristic collections with pockets and zippers detailing black, blue and grey designs.

'€œThere are many strong lines in the cutting that represent the strength of a woman,'€ designer Ahmad Soffiyulloh said.

The fashion show closed with a collaborative performance from Rinda and Holbecq that mixed the experimental hair styles with an energetic collection highlighting strong cuts and sharp silhouettes showcasing the sensuality of a woman'€™s curves.
