P

apua became an unstoppable team at the National Hockey Championship in the Senayan ABC field, Jakarta as it topped Pool A with a total of nine points on Tuesday after crushing South Sulawesi 2-0, Central Java 1-0 and East Kalimantan 3-2.

In its latest match against East Kalimantan on Tuesday, defending champ Papua had to go the extra mile to topple its opponent.

Papua earned its first score by Markus Khabarek in the 14th minute and its second and third by Darus Opni in the 43rd and 47th. Meanwhile, East Kalimantan also fought hard as its player Edwin Aldrin made two goals in the 51st and 53rd minutes.

In other matches, the host Jakarta teams, both in the men'€™s and women'€™s division, maintained a 100 percent effort playing against Yogyakarta as the men'€™s team won 1-0 and the women'€™s team gained a 6-0 victory.

Jakartan women'€™s team member Debie Delima, who contributed two goals in the match, said that the team'€™s performance went above her expectations.

'€œI think East Kalimantan is the toughest team to face in this championship. Nevertheless, we never look down on any team,'€ she said in a release.
