President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will have another Cabinet shake-up before the end of the year to help the government maintain the positive momentum of an improved economy, a minister said on Wednesday.
"The Cabinet reshuffle will most likely happen before the end of the year ['¦] President Jokowi will choose [new] people for the legal and economic [posts]," said Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Rizal Ramli as quoted by state news agency Antara. He mentioned that several posts could see changeovers, though gave no further detail.
Indonesia's economic growth rebounded in the third quarter of this year, to 4.73 percent, from 4.63 percent in the second quarter, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
The government has issued six economic packages in an effort to bolster the economy amid the slowdown, focusing on simplified business-permit processing, incentives for investors and loan supports for labor-intensive industries.
Rizal claimed the improving economic growth was partly thanks to the first cabinet reshuffle in August.
"People and investors' confidence in the government rose [after the first reshuffle]," he said.
On who would be dismissed in a second reshuffle, he said, "That is President's decision," but said he felt confident that Jokowi would change his cabinet based on his own evaluation without external interference, from political parties and others.
The second shake-up, he added, would support the government's efforts to achieve its developments goals and improve the economy.
Rizal went as far as predicting that Indonesia's economy would reach a growth rate of 6 percent, higher than the projection given in the 2016 draft state budget of 5.3 percent.
