he Papua men's team continued its title charge by burying West Papua 4-0 in the semifinals of the National Hockey Championships at the Senayan Astroturf Hockey Field in Jakarta on Saturday.
After leading the first half 1-0 through Matheus Kbarek, Papua stepped up its offensive to score three more goals in the second half courtesy of Edwin Aldrin, Hosea Asyer and Richard Brando.
Papua will face either Jakarta or West Papua in the finals on Sunday.
In the women's division, East Kalimantan is a step away from retaining the trophy after it cruised to the finals with a 9-0 win over West Papua. Its opponent in the finals will be either Jakarta or Papua.
East Kalimantan's goals were contributed by Fitriyani (3), Widya Saruli (2) and Nurasiah, Sahida, Feriana and Isnawati, each with one goal.
The top three teams in the final standings will qualify for the 2016 National Games in Bandung. The tournament will continue with the indoor hockey championship from Nov. 25 to 29.
